Fireworks Art

This week we have been learning all about "The Gunpowder Plot", planned by Guy Fawke's. He was trying to blow up parliament, but as we learned, his plan was foiled by one of the members of his gang who wrote a letter to his brother telling him what they were going to do! We created some art work to go with our learning. It was quite complicated creating the fireworks as we did blow painting, using straws to spread the paint.

Buddy Reading - Cup Day Races!

This week, we celebrated NZ Cup and Show Week with some horse races of our own! We teamed up with our buddy class, Room 1, and made our own horses. Then we went outside and put them to the test! It was a fantastic afternoon!

Descriptive Writing Challenge

Today we had a group writing challenge! We were in groups of 4/5 and were given an interesting picture showing a setting.

We only had 17 minutes to write down as many describing words and similes that we could! We came up with some pretty impressive language!

Well done to the boys group, Isaac, Hunter, Luca and Jackson who won by filling BOTH sides of their sheet!
